A Quick Clean Off Sleeve can make cleaning off the Rhino or Wrasse magnets a simple and easy task. Just pull the sleeve off and all the metal debris falls off the one side of the magnet.
There are three types of UTV magnets differentiated by their mounting position on the UTV;
Magnetic sweepers for UTVs that attach to the front of Side x Sides like a snowplow.
Magnets for UTVs that tow behind the side by side using a ball or wagon style pin hitch.
Magnets that easily attach to the UTV by hanging the magnet from the front, rear or middle of a UTV.

The HOG magnetic sweeper is the little brother of the Rhino. Whereas the Rhino is designed for applications requiring significant pickup power, such as construction sites, horse arenas and small landfills where there is either significant amounts of debris or the debris needs to be pulled up from under dirt, the Hog is designed for the somewhat lighter use applications such as gravel and dirt parking lots, rental center users, trucking terminal yards and farm driveways and yards.
Easily tow this compact and light magnet with an ATV, UTV, lawn mower, golf cart, or forklift. The 62" width of the HOG is perfect for these tow vehicles because these vehicles are this same general width.
Optional accessories for the HOG are the Quick Clean Off Sleeve which aids in cleaning collected debris from the magnet and the Debris Digging Rake built to dislodge debris embedded in the ground so it can be collected by the magnet.

The Yacare magnetic sweeper is a 72 inch wide, durable off road tow behind magnetic sweeper with an easy to use Spring Assisted Clean Off system and torsion ride suspension that smooths out rough terrain!
The Yacare clean off system is entirely different from both the HOG and RHINO. It replaces the Quick Clean Off Sleeve system with an easier to use, more durable long term solution that's especially helpful for heavy debris conditions.
More power and advanced durability provided by all steel and stainless steel construction and easy effortless clean off with dual debris release levers provide sound rationale to move up from the Rhino to the Yacare.
Yet the Yacare keeps all the features that makes the Rhino so popular; the pick up performance in off road conditions provided by the "wrap around" design, the adjustable sweep height, flat proof tires, adjustable hitch height and optional debris digging rake accessory. The suspension system also increases towability of the Yacare magnet through rough terrain, reducing strain on the chassis of the sweeper and tow vehicle.
Replacing the safety flags on the Rhino are the RED colored lid and “MAGNETIC SWEEPER” signage on the back of the Yacare unit, to ensure that high visibility is maintained.

The Nyx Heavy Duty Hanging Magnetic Sweeper is built to endure heavy duty terrain while clearing metal debris. An Aluminum quick clean off sleeve protects the magnet housing from impacts and crush forces and allows debris to be removed from the magnetic field quickly and easily.
The Nyx also features 10.5” x 3.25” inch Carlisle flat free wheels with UHMW bushings replacing standard ball bearings for greater impact resistance and smooth operation. These wheels will touch down on terrain changes before the clean off sleeve so the Nyx can glide over obstacles rather than strike the ground.
A 4.5” x 4.5” inch permanently charged C8 magnet housing allows the Nyx to pull a 2.5” inch 8 penny nail from up to 8.25” inches off the ground. So, in the 3”-5” inch recommended sweeping height range the Nyx has plenty of pick up power to retrieve metal debris regardless of terrain requirements. The Nyx attaches easily to many different vehicles using the included chains; making it a versatile and durable tool for clearing debris in rough environments.
What do the staff of Bluestreak have to say on the subject of UTV magnets?
There really is no one best solution for the UTV. It really just depends on your exact situation. Don't second guess yourself, go with what you think is your best choice, whether that's a Front Mount, Tow Behind or Hanging Magnet.

The Kubota Snow Plow Mount for Hanging Brackets allows the use of any Bluestreak Equipment hanging bracket on the front of a Kubota UTV that has the Kubota snow plow system attached to it. This gives you hydraulic control of the height of the magnet. Mounting a magnet on the front of a Kubota lets the magnets protect the machines tires rather than having the tires be the first point of contact while sweeping.
This bracket system allows owners of a Kubota UTV with the Kubota snow plow system to easily attach the Yak magnetic sweeper. This grants the user hydraulic control over the height of the Yak magnet so it can be lifted out of the way if not being used. This bracket makes mounting a Yak to a UTV a very simple job with no fabrication required.

If you have an extensive debris problem that will cause flat tires if you run over the debris then a front mount magnetic sweeper is the recommended UTV magnet and may be the only consideration in your choice of magnet. A front mounted magnetic sweeper will pick up debris like nails before you run over them. This is something that seems obvious but positioning the UTV magnet at the front of the UTV is much better than at the rear where you will run over the debris before you pick it up.
While picking up debris before running over it seems intuitively like the best option and only option, it also comes at a greater cost. The front mount UTV magnet design is a more complex solution because it requires a much more complex mounting system and the weight of the magnet has to be controlled to keep the UTV in balance. If a front mount UTV magnet is too costly an option then a UTV hanging magnet is the most versatile and cost effective solution. A UTV hanging magnet is essentially a large magnetic bar without many of the other design mechanisms that accompany either a tow behind magnet or a front mount magnet. A UTV hanging magnet is a versatile and cost effective choice.
Given that you will be using the UTV for other tasks, you should consider if you are able to leave a tow behind, front mount or hanging magnet on the UTV all of the time or if it has to come off and on regularly. If you cannot leave the UTV magnet on, then the tow behind solution may be the best option for you because it can be easily and quickly hitched to the UTV when needed. A hanging magnet or front mount magnet will be a bit more involved and take more time to mount and demount from the UTV. If you can mount a magnet permanently on your UTV, it’s going to work for you all the time while you’re driving around and it saves you the time of temporarily mounting and demounting it. If you can leave a UTV magnet mounted, a mounted solution such as a UTV front mount or a hanging UTV magnet is the best solution.
A UTV magnet may work very well at picking up metal debris, but consider how easy it is to clean the magnet off. Think through how you would clean the magnet off step by step. Make sure it makes sense to you and your situation. We try and do this for you so that the clean off system isn’t a difficult or time-consuming task, but some manufacturers have not thought of this. Pay attention to the details of how this clean off system will work from start to finish, right up to the point of getting the debris to the garbage or scrap bin.
If you are using your UTV magnet regularly, you are not going to be cleaning your magnet off constantly. So it’s important that when your magnet does pick up nails or screws these items stick to the magnet and do not fall off at the first bump. If the UTV magnet is suddenly shaken because of a bump or if the bottom of the magnet hits the ground and the debris is wiped backward on the magnet it’s important that the debris stays on. You want the debris to stay on the magnet until you decide to remove it. The last thing you want is to pick up the same debris over and over again because it keeps falling off. To ensure your debris hangs on to the magnet make sure your magnet has features like our “Wrap Around Feature”. This feature not only makes sure debris doesn’t get wiped off the bottom of the magnet, it makes the debris holding capacity higher. You’ll actually find in practice that most of your debris ends up on the side of your magnet not the bottom of it. And that’s a good indication to you why we have the “Wrap Around” feature.
It’s important to know how far off the ground you will position the magnet and also know how far off the ground the magnet will still perform well. For most of our magnets we give you the “Maximum Lifting Height” in the specs. This will tell you how far off the ground the magnet will perform. We want to make sure our products meet your expectations. Make sure you take a look at the magnet’s specification for “Maximum Lifting Height”. We bench test every one of our magnetic sweeper models to determine their maximum lifting height using a two and a half inch standard nail. Everyone knows what a two and a half inch nail looks like which is why we use this standard measure of magnet strength and it will give you a very good idea of magnet performance. Many times we have videos of our products picking up various other materials so take a look at the videos in the video galleries. They give you a chance to “kick the tires” and see how the products perform. Many of these videos have been submitted by previous customers.
The rougher and dirtier the terrain your UTV operates in the stronger the magnet your likely going to need because the magnet will have to be set higher to avoid constantly hitting the ground. The magnet will also need to pick up debris through some dirt so the strength needs to be greater. The rougher the terrain that exists because of things like bumps and pot holes the more you will want or favor a magnet that has some protection built in to the design to either deal with the abuse of hitting the ground or being able to move out of the way when it does hit the ground in order to prevent damage.
UTV stands for Utility Terrain Vehicles or Utility Task Vehicles, but most people know them by the name of “UTV’s” or “side by sides”.
UTV’s have grown in popularity by leaps and bounds and while used for recreational purposes their also heavily used in working environments.
They are common place on farms, in manufacturing environments, on many large construction sites, and large industrial locations, sports facilities, fire/rescue, disaster relief workers, beach patrols, the military and widely used by park management everywhere. They move people, equipment, tools, and parts efficiently from place to place in almost any conditions.
UTV's tend to be more useful than an ATV, but more versatile than a pickup truck. The whole segment is still evolving, with some models leaning more to the “recreational side” and others leaning more to the “commercial utility” side of things.
If you use a UTV and you also have debris that is causing problems usually in the form of flat tires, then attaching a magnet to your UTV is an obvious solution because it will allow you to pickup the debris causing the flat tires while the UTV is used during it’s normal activities. Labor is the biggest single cost to removing debris, therefore if debris can be picked up without additional labor costs, while other normal activities are carried out, the cost of debris removal is minimal and the payback from buying a UTV magnet can be high. Payback can be measured in the form of reduced flat tire costs, reduced downtime, and schedule disruptions.
A Quick Clean Off Sleeve can make cleaning off the Rhino or Wrasse magnets a simple and easy task. Just pull the sleeve off and all the metal debris falls off the one side of the magnet.
