The Wrasse hanging magnetic bar is designed for use on “flat terrain”. It is extremely versatile because it comes in many different sizes, in terms of strength and width. The Wrasse hanging magnet bars are available in widths from 26” – 98” inches and in 3 different magnet housing sizes: 2” x 5” inches, 3” x 3” inches, and 4.5” x 4.5” inches each level of housing size offers more magnetic strength than the previous.
The Wrasse can hang from almost any piece of equipment if the ground the vehicle traverses is fairly even so that the magnet bar doesn’t hit the ground all the time which can cause damage to the housing. The Wrasse hanging magnet bar functions very well at allowing the equipment operators to clean environments while they do their normal tasks.
There are also optional Quick Clean Off Sleeves available for the Wrasse. A PVC Quick Clean Off Sleeve is available for the 3″x 3″ inch and 4.5″ x 4.5″ inch models which makes cleaning debris off the magnet bar easy. A Heavy-Duty Aluminum Quick Clean Off Sleeve is available for some 4.5” x 4.5” inch sweeping widths, this sleeve also assists in cleaning debris from the magnet and increases the durability of the sweeper.

The PYR hanging magnet was designed for flat terrain and “on road” type uses where not much ground strike prevention is needed. “On road” type bump wheels are provided on the ends to eliminate magnet strikes due to occasional potholes and speed bump type obstacles.
Choose from 2 different models with different magnet strengths, and 6 different magnet lengths from 3 to 8 feet, to get the perfect setup for your application.

With 10” inch x 3” inch wide flat proof Bumper wheels. The EIGER was designed for those slightly more off-road surfaces with more uneven surfaces such as dirt and gravel where potholes and bumps exist.
Designed with wide wheels to stay on top of those surfaces, and also designed with a greater minimum sweeping height of 2.5”inches to prevent the sweeper from hitting the ground.

The ISO magnetic sweeper is a hanging magnet design specifically designed for highway maintenance operations.

The KHAMSIN hanging magnet was designed for more “off road” applications such as gravel, sand, and dirt roads and yards, or grass covered areas. Ideal for rural roads or gravel roadsides. Ideal for gravel parking lots and driveways.

The AETHER hanging magnet was designed for those off road dirt and gravel situations where more ground strike prevention is needed than the EIGER provides, but less ground strike prevention than the REMORAS provides.
The 10” x 3” flat proof bump wheels on the ends prevent the magnet from hitting the ground and from sinking into loose surfaces, and the wheeled outriggers provide additional ground strike prevention in the middle of the magnet’s overall length.

With outdoor rated IP65 12-volt DC actuators rated at 562 lbs each and 7.5” inches of up and down movement for remote controlled raising and lowering of magnet from raised travelling to lowered sweeping position.

The Remoras magnet is an “all terrain” hanging magnet that you can attach to equipment you already use and own. This magnet is specifically designed to withstand frequent ground hits while picking up metal debris from uneven and rough surfaces with potholes and ruts.
Normal hanging magnetic sweepers like the Wrasse series can’t stand up to the pounding of hitting the ground over and over as the equipment wheels go into ruts and potholes, but the Remoras series can withstand frequent ground hits with no damage to the magnet housing itself. A protective cage protects the magnetic housing from hitting the ground when your vehicle travels over uneven, rough terrain.
Magnets of this type are very useful if there are severe ruts in industrial yards caused by constant use over the same path by heavy vehicles.

The Nyx Heavy Duty Hanging Magnetic Sweeper is built to endure heavy duty terrain while clearing metal debris. An Aluminum quick clean off sleeve protects the magnet housing from impacts and crush forces and allows debris to be removed from the magnetic field quickly and easily.
The Nyx also features 10.5” x 3.25” inch Carlisle flat free wheels with UHMW bushings replacing standard ball bearings for greater impact resistance and smooth operation. These wheels will touch down on terrain changes before the clean off sleeve so the Nyx can glide over obstacles rather than strike the ground.

The Erebus Heavy Duty Offroad Hanging Magnet is built to clean metal from the toughest job sites, the onboard out-riggers and aluminum sleeve protect the magnet housing from ground strikes and scrapes. The Erebus also has 10.5 “ x 3.25” Carlisle flat free bump wheels that allow the magnet to roll over changing terrain rather than hit the aluminum clean off sleeve off the ground. The wheel bearings have been replaced with custom 5/8” UHMW bushings that can withstand greater impacts and roll smoothly.
From recycling centers to highway maintenance, the Erebus is a heavy duty durable magnet with exceptional pickup power. The Ananke is a hanging magnet that is loaded with convenience and durability features designed to operate in harsh environments like mines, highways and in military road clearing settings and increase productivity of any grader with rear auxiliary hydraulics. The Ananke can even pick up nails from outside of the grader’s blade width if used with the optional side shift bracket.
C8 magnets allow the Ananke to retrieve 2.5” inch 8 penny nails from up to 10.75” inches, so when used in the recommended 3” inch – 5” inch operating range it can collect any type of metal debris even at speed. The Vigilant Forklift Magnetic Sweeper mounts to the bottom of any forklift in minutes and is an easy way to continuously clean metal debris up while the forklift performs its daily tasks. The Vigilant mounts to any flat steel surface using the quad pod or 12 pod magnet mounting system with up to 415lbs of holding force. The Defiant Magnet Mounted Hanging Forklift Magnetic Sweeper mounts to any forklift in minutes with no tools and is the easiest way to utilize permanently charged rare earth magnetic power to continuously clean a job site or facility with no additional labour costs.

Only choose the Remoras if you think that a hanging magnet like the Wrasse would hit the ground all the time because of bumps, ruts, potholes, etc. That’s the only reason for selecting the Remoras, because the Remoras magnet is the same magnet as the strongest Wrasse magnet (the 4.5×4.5 series).

When buying a magnetic sweeper bar you are only paying for a big magnet… no wheels, handles, or frame are part of the design or cost. As a result they are simply a great value for what you get, which is essentially just a big magnet.
Once you hang them on a vehicle of any type they work continuously, while you go about your other duties.
When you attach a magnetic sweeper bar to your equipment, you don’t have to spend extra labor time and money just sweeping for metal debris. You can hang them from almost anything, you just have to look at the equipment for the best place to hang them, and in most cases a place can be found to simply attach the magnet using the chains provided, at worst you simply have to make a simple metal bracket to get the optimal positioning.
If you’re wondering about pickup power, Bluestreak measures pickup power in terms of the “maximum lifting height using a two and a half inch nail”.
Everyone knows what a two and a half inch nail looks like. This measure indicates the maximum height that the sweeper can pick up a two and a half inch nail from in a bench test. This is the best indication of performance and pickup power that is easy to understand.

When choosing a hanging magnet consider the terrain you will be working on because the terrain you will be working on greatly effects the magnets’ performance.
We have designed the Wrasse magnetic bar to work well on flat surfaces and the Remoras magnet to work well in more “all terrain” environments where there might be pot holes or ruts and where the magnet could be frequently hitting the ground.
If you know you will be working mainly on concrete or relatively flat terrain then choose a model within the Wrasse Series that is designed for flat surfaces.
If you are going to be attaching your magnet to vehicles where the terrain is rough and the magnet may hit the ground, then choose a model within the Remoras Series.
