All equipment on base and in the field needs regular maintenance and repairs performed. When these operations are taking place fasteners, metal cutoffs, and tools can get dropped and create a tire puncture hazard, potentially causing more downtime for equipment. A magnetic sweeper also helps find dropped fasteners or tools in the field or shop, reducing time spent looking for dropped pieces. Utilizing a magnetic sweeper to keep maintenance areas clean is a proactive way to prevent future downtime.
Once the firing range goes cold, all spent ammunition cases, belt clips, and magazines need to be collected. Any small arm steel cased ammunition and any steel machine gun belt links can be collected quickly and easily using a handheld magnet. Larger spent steel munition cases such as grenade launcher and artillery shells can be picked up quickly across large areas and put into a pile using a high-powered magnetic sweeper on a skid steer or loader. When steel components are used on the range, magnets make quick work of cleaning up.

There are 3 types of magnets for military:
Tow behind magnets are hitched to a tow vehicle such as a truck only when needed and then put away again. Sweeping with these units is a distinct and separate activity undertaken in addition to other activities.
Hanging magnets are hung from a wide range of vehicles or pieces of equipment on a permanent basis. Sweeping with these units takes place while other normal activities are carried out resulting in no additional labor costs for sweeping for metal debris. Hanging magnets may be front, mid, or rear mounted.
Front mounted magnetic sweepers are semi permanently attached to the front of vehicles like a snow plow and are more effective at preventing flats on the vehicles that use them over other types of magnets. These magnets are maneuverable so they can be used to clear large areas quickly and make it easy to see where you are sweeping.

The Bora magnetic sweeper is the biggest push magnet designed for flat surfaces such as concrete or asphalt. It has two layers of C8 ceramic magnets packed end to end un-spaced and a steel backing plate to make the magnetic field larger and extend it downward.

The Nyx Heavy Duty Hanging Magnetic Sweeper is built to endure heavy duty terrain while clearing metal debris. An Aluminum quick clean off sleeve protects the magnet housing from impacts and crush forces and allows debris to be removed from the magnetic field quickly and easily.

Maximize Safety and Speed with the new industry standard for heavy truck magnetic sweeping
The Baffin magnetic sweeper is designed to be the premier front mounted heavy commercial truck magnet on the market. It’s suspension system keeps the magnet planted at the right height through hard turns and over bumps to eliminate the need for constant height adjustment. The Baffin also has a clean-off system that allows drivers to empty the magnet quickly and safely from the truck cab without ever having to get out of the truck or handle debris.
With a maximum pickup height of 10.75”, the Baffin is well suited to collect any metal debris up to 25 km/h (~15 mph) at the recommended sweeping height of 2” inches.
And the two on-board removable 1.65 cubic foot debris bins allow for the 95” inch wide magnet to be cleaned off multiple times before the bins need to be emptied. This increases efficiency by letting the magnet spend more time sweeping. The Sokoke magnetic sweeper is a bigger and stronger version of the existing Meerkat magnetic sweeper, The Sokoke is meant for tougher jobs and heavier equipment while also a viable option for skid steers. The bracket assemblies have pre-drilled bolt holes to accept one of five brackets available from Bluestreak Equipment. Allowing you to use the Sokoke on many popular front-end loader models or skid steers, depending on which bracket is purchased with the Sokoke.
This versatile magnetic sweeper has three 29”-inch x 9”-inch x 6.25”-inch magnet assemblies that pivot on UHMW bushings which allows the metal debris stuck on the stainless-steel debris pan to be separated from the magnetic field by swinging the magnets away from the debris pan using gravity. This clean-off system allows the operator to raise the Sokoke over a scrap bin and empty the debris off by tipping it forward just like emptying a bucket.
