The Powerstik Pro handheld magnetic sweeper is a Super Blue rare earth powered evolution of Bluestreak’s original Powerstik magnet that has become a hit with roofers thanks to the maneuverability, and surprising power for such a lightweight package.
The Pro model utilises the new Super Blue magnet system which offers almost 2x more magnetic power over the original Powerstik thanks to the Super Blue rare earth magnets inside.
This increased power creates the need to have an easier way to clean the magnet; the Pro model has a removeable sleeve to release debris. The sleeve doubles as a wear bar to prevent degradation of the aluminum housing when dragged on hard surfaces.
Because of the 4-sided clean off sleeve with wear bars, the Pro model is great for cleaning up on concrete floors in machine shops and factories. The wear bars allow four wear cycles before the sleeve needs to be replaced, all without degrading the magnets or aluminum housing.
This magnet can hold an impressive amount of debris for its size and will pick up a 2.5” nail from 2.75” off of the ground. The Powerstik Pro is built for getting into places that other magnets won’t reach, it combines the coverage of a rolling magnet with the precision and reach of a pot magnet pickup tool.
The Powerstik Pro weighs in at only 3.1 lbs which reduces user fatigue and allows the magnet to be maneuvered into tight spaces using one hand.

We have 11 little magnets, but that has wheels on it too, right? So sometimes you’d just pop the wheels off that and kind of use it like that.

The new Powerstik Pro & Pro Elite models are packed with our Super Blue rare earth magnet system, the Pro model is packed with ½” tall magnet blocks, giving it great pickup performance and a massive increase in power compared to the original ceramic powered Powerstik as shown on the graph. The Pro Elite model’s aluminum housing is fully packed with Super Blue magnets, this further increases the maximum pickup height and greatly improves the holding power. The Pro Elite will therefore grab and hold onto more debris than the Pro before it needs to be cleaned off and the Pro model will grab and hold onto more debris than the original Powerstik.

This is the max pickup height test for the Power Stick Pro magnet. We have it set up at two and three quarter inches off the deck here, and we’re going to pick up our two and a half inch roofing now.
Powerstik Magnetic Sweeper Line Holding Force Comparison
So here’s the video comparing the Power Stick’s holding force compared to the new Pro and Pro Elite models. On the Pro, we’ve got eight railway spikes held on, as well as this plate and this square nut over here. On this one, you can see we only got four railway spikes, the one nut, and the one plate, and these are pretty well on there as well. The wraparound function really helps with this magnet to keep everything secure on there. And we’ll see what the other ones do.
So here’s a part of the comparison between the Power Stick Pro, the Power Stick Pro Elite, and the original Power Stick. Here we have the Pro version, and it’s got our Super Blue magnet technology inside of it. This is a demonstration just to show the holding power. We’ve got, what’s that, eight railway spikes, two large bolts, a rock plate, and a rock bolt shaft, and they’re on there pretty good.
We’re going to compare this to the original Power Stick and then the Elite, just so you can see the difference in strength. So here’s the power test for our Pro Elite model. Like the Pro, it’s got the eight railway spikes and the two square nuts and the plate here, but you can see we got another bolt, another big rock bolt, another piece of scrap, and on the other side, there’s about a three-quarter inch thick bolt on that side.
And I gotta say, this thing weighs probably 30 pounds, all this stuff on it, and it doesn’t feel like it’s going anywhere. Like, I’m giving it a pretty good shake, and this stuff’s not really moving.
So that just shows you the power level difference between the three sweepers: the Power Stick original got four spikes, the Pro got the eight spikes plus three other pieces of debris, and this got another four—what’s that, another five pieces of debris—on top of that. So this thing is by far the strongest magnet. Obviously, that’s why it’s the Pro Elite. But it’s quite a good magnet for collecting stuff because it has magnets all the way through the assembly, which is why we can put stuff on top, and it’s not going to fall when I do this.
Even when metal debris in a lawn or garden isn’t visible, there is often debris stuck out of sight in the grass or plants. The Powerstik series was designed to get into and around obstacles like bushes and flowers in a garden, this lets you get complete coverage when cleaning up after a roofing job.
The included Quick Clean Off Sleeve helps keep the metal contained by easily dumping debris into a bucket at the press of a button and slide of the sleeve.

The new Quick Clean Off Sleeve included on both the Powerstik Pro & Powerstik Pro Elite models serves two functions. The first is to clear debris from the magnet housing more easily than using a hand or rag. The second is to serve as a wear surface to prevent the aluminum housing from being scraped away on hard surfaces. The sleeve has alignment holes on all sides which gives you 4 injection molded surfaces to wear down before the sleeve needs to be replaced, this extends the life of the tool and keeps your hands away from the often-sharp metal debris stuck to the Super Blue magnets. Once the Quick Clean Off Sleeve is fully worn out, replacements can be ordered directly from Bluestreak Equipment.
So here’s a look at the new clean-off sleeve that comes on the Power Stick Pro and Pro Elite magnetic sweepers.
This unit is not only meant for cleaning off debris on the magnet and emptying it out easier, but it also comes with wear bars. So, what these wear bars allow you to do is drag the unit on the ground, and it protects the aluminum housing and the magnets inside. Once one of these surfaces gets worn away, you simply press this button on the top here, pull it, rotate your sleeve to another surface, and click it back on. That’s going to give you another surface to wear down, and you can keep doing that—go to the next side once that side gets worn down, click it back on, and you’ve got another surface to wear.
These are available for sale separately from the parts section of our website, so once these get worn out on your sweeper, you don’t have to buy a new sweeper—you can just buy a new set of sleeves.
The Powerstik Pro handheld magnetic sweeper is a perfect addition to any roofing crew’s arsenal of magnetic clean-up tools.
