The Gamma continuous discharge shotblasting magnet is a cost-effective way to streamline clean-up processes in medium – large shot blasting projects. Using the Gamma over a flip-up style magnet allows operators to do a more thorough and efficient job when picking up shot on hard surfaces.
The advantage of a continuous discharge magnet over the flip-up style comes from the finned PVC drum that removes shot from the magnetic field and deposits it into the 42Lbs capacity on-board debris tray as the sweeper is pushed. By keeping the magnet clean, 100% of the magnet’s power can be used for pulling shot up off the floor and from cracks up to 1 ¼” inches deep. Eliminating the loss of magnetic power that comes from holding shot on the magnet keeps pulling power constant, allowing the operator and sweeper to work at full potential all the time.
Cleaning up after surface preparation is quick and easy with the Gamma, the three-wheel setup with clutched drive wheels allows for one hand operation and zero-point turns. Having 42lbs of shot capacity in a removable tray on the magnet lets operators cover more ground before they need to empty the bins and reload shot blasting machines without having to sweep anything off the floor.

Easy to Maneuver Magnet for Shot Blast Clean-up
The Gamma is a ceramic powered continuous discharge magnet developed from the popular Fission model. Upgrades have been made to the Gamma to improve efficiency. Clutched drive hubs and a front caster wheel allows the magnet to spin in place while still driving the clean off drum, eliminating the need to lift the sweeper to make turns which reduces user fatigue and makes operating this shot sweeper the easiest part of a surface prep job.
Flip Up vs Continuous Discharge & Ceramic vs Rare Earth Magnets: What the Professionals Recommend
The Gamma is powered by C8 Ceramic magnets rather than the rare earth that powers the Quantum and Fission models. Ceramic magnets are less powerful, but the arrangement of the Gamma’s C8 magnets allow it to operate at nearly the same level as the rare earth models at a much lower price point. The peak power of the Gamma is concentrated in 2 places along the 25” inch effective sweeping width as indicated by the blue markers on the chassis. At these points of the magnet the gamma can pull S550 shot out of cracks or control joints up to 1 ¼” inch deep but thanks to the continuous discharge function of the magnet, the Gamma will stay at this strength level making it faster to use than a comparable flip up style magnet.
While ceramic magnets are heavier and weaker, they also come with a much lower price point and for most cases work perfectly fine if the weight of the sweeper is not an issue.
