The Aether All Terrain Hanging Magnetic Sweeper is unique because of the combination of its flat proof bump wheels on each end and its two wheeled outriggers positioned along the length between the wheels. The wheeled outriggers provide extra protection in rough environments that hanging magnetic sweepers with only wheels on the end cannot. Both of these features; wheels and outriggers, make sure the magnet doesn’t hit the ground in rough, rutted, pothole filled environments. You can operate the Aether with the peace of mind that the sweeper won’t get damaged.
More room is needed to mount an Aether than some of our other hanging magnets because of the outriggers and therefore the AETHER hanging magnet is best suited for mounting under vehicles such as commercial trucks, bigger outdoor forklifts, Shunt/Yard Trucks, Telehandlers and Tractors.
The Aether comes with 6 stabilizing chains and 12 quick clips to mount the Aether, and it also comes standard with a durable PVC black Quick Clean Off Sleeve to make clean off quick and easy. Optional hanging bracket accessories are also available.”
The Aether magnet has a strong magnetic field with a maximum lifting height of 9 inches using a 2.5” inch nail. (We use a 2 ½” nail to measure maximum lifting heights of all of our sweepers because it is a standard well known item familiar to customers. Keep in mind the maximum lifting heights will vary depending upon the shape and ferrous content of the items you are trying to pickup)
To ensure Aether’s performance pickup power long term, the Aether utilizes permanently charged grade C8 Ceramic magnets that will never need to be recharged.

The optional aluminum quick clean off sleeve is available for all 4.5” x 4.5” magnets in lengths of 62, 74”, 86” and 98”. These sleeves are far stronger than the PVC models (SEE DURABILITY TEST HERE) and protect the magnet assembly from impacts. PVC sleeves can also deform from the pressure of collected debris being pulled towards the magnet housing making them hard to pull off. The aluminum sleeves will not deform and the plastic rails on the inner corners of the sleeve allow for smooth operation. An extendable stainless-steel handle is also stored inside the sleeve to make removing the sleeve even easier. The aluminum quick clean off sleeve is a great solution for rough terrains and prevents having to buy a new PVC sleeve every time it cracks from hitting obstacles in rough conditions.
A hanging magnet needs to be easy to clean off. The Aether uses a PVC Quick Clean Off Sleeve as the clean off method. To clean the Aether All Terrain Hanging Magnetic Sweeper off when full of debris, just remove the Bump Wheel on one end, and pull off the Quick Clean Off Sleeve. All of the debris will drop off on the side of the magnet that you pull the Sleeve off. Clean off is easy, quick and simple.
The Aether All Terrain Hanging Magnetic Sweeper comes in 4 different sweeping widths of 62”, 74”, 86” and 98” to accommodate many different vehicle sizes and uses. The Aether can be front, mid or rear mounted on a variety of vehicles as long as enough clearance and space is present. We obviously recommend front mounting a magnet sweeper when at all possible so that you don’t run over the debris with your vehicle before picking it up.
As a hanging magnet, the Aether has no specific requirements of the vehicle to ensure FIT. You should however, take a look at the CAD files showing overall dimensions of width and height to ensure the Aether will work with your intended vehicle and the anticipated mounting position.
To accommodate mounting of the Aether All Terrain Hanging Magnetic Sweeper to a vehicle it may be necessary for the purchaser to buy one of the available hanging bracket accessories. As an alternative, the purchaser can themselves design and build a suspension frame with mounting points specific to those available on the vehicle being used as well as the suggested mounting points on the Aether. Guidance on the design of such a frame and the mounting points is provided in the Aether Assembly and Installation Instructions.
The AETHER utilizes permanently charged C8 Ceramic Magnets to provide a strong magnetic field with a maximum lifting height of 9” using a two and a half inch nail.
The Aether All Terrain Hanging Magnetic Sweeper will pick up a 2 ½” nail when the bottom of the magnet is 9” off the ground providing plenty of pickup power performance in dirt and gravel and when operating on a moving vehicle.
Sweeping height is adjustable from a minimum of 2.5” inches with the bump wheels touching the ground to a maximum of 5” inches. We recommend a 3” inch sweeping height with the bump wheels ½’ off the ground.
The Aether has 10”x3” foam filled flat proof wheels with steel hubs and 5/8” inch ball bearings rated at 136 kg (300 lbs) capacity each.
The bump wheels are designed to hang slightly above the ground, but protect the magnet from hitting the ground when the vehicle suspension compresses or if there are bumps or potholes in the road. The protective bump wheels allow you to hang the magnet lower for better performance than would be possible without bump wheels.
The Aether was designed with 2 outriggers to provide extra ground strike prevention, in other words, to prevent the magnet from hitting the ground in rough terrain.
The outriggers are constructed of 1/4” thick steel. The Outriggers can be used either with the outrigger extenders installed or un-installed. The outrigger extenders are designed to aid the sweeper over larger obstacles.
Each outrigger has a wheel on each side of the magnet. Those wheels are 4” x 4” in size and made of Polypropylene. The wheels extend down below the bottom of the Quick Clean Off Sleeve by 0.75” inches ensuring that the wheels hit the ground before the magnet does.
The 10”x3” bump wheels on the ends of the Aether All Terrain Hanging Magnetic Sweeper extend down 2 ½” below the Quick Clean Off Sleeve, so the outrigger wheels are higher than the end bump wheels ensuring that the outrigger wheels only hit the ground if and when they encounter a bump in the middle of the magnet that the outside wheels do not, such as the center of a rutted laneway or road. The relative position of the end bump wheels, the outrigger wheels and the bottom of the magnet can be seen in the photo below.
The “Wrap Around” magnet design ensures debris never gets wiped off the bottom of the magnet in grass or off road dirty and bumpy conditions.
The “Wrap Around” feature is an essential design feature if you will be using the magnetic sweeper in grass or dirt conditions and is one of the key features that make the AETHER truly off-road capable.

This wheel kit replaces the standard wheel and axle bolt assembly for a heavier duty wheel, hub and axle bolt. This 10” aluminum hub wheel fits on all widths of the Aether. This wheel is an upgrade that is built of stronger materials that can withstand more abuse in on and offroad settings. The sealed highspeed bearings keep dirt out so the polyurethane tread wheels can spin smoothly. The bearings and wheels are resistant to damage from impacts at speed so if the sweeper is expected to withstand heavy use in rough conditions this wheel will last longer and perform better than the standard option.
