Bluestreak's patented "Ripwhirl Technology"
Three years in development, Bluestreak Equipment's Ripwhirl Technology set out to achieve the "Holy Grail" in magnetic sweeper design: Pickup debris material and continuously discharge that material into a bin or tray all the while maintaining maximum pickup strength.
Considered by all to be the "Holy Grail" in magnetic sweeper design, the obstacles preventing a design like this seemed insurmountable and in fact were for many years.
The obstacles were many including how to get enough magnetic pickup strength aimed at the ground, and still maintain that magnetic holding power while the material travels up the back of the magnet drum and at the same time how to then "reduce or eliminate" the magnetic power to allow clean off into a tray or bin. All three phases of which have to happen at the same time in order to continuously clean.
Earlier attempts by the industry, including Bluestreak, focussed on the use of ribbed or textured belts as a method of "stripping" debris material from the magnetic field and using the same belt as a conveyor to then move the debris material out of the magnetic field and into a tray or bin. However, such designs were fraught with their own problems such as stray debris material getting stuck between the magnetic drum and the belt, large and heavy sweeper weights, high costs, and difficulty using them in a push type sweeper because of the effort required to push the sweeper because of belt drag. These previous attempts by the industry using belts were essentially "brute force" attempts to reach the desired goal using current technologies.
Bluestreak Equipment, instead, decided to concentrate on advancing current magnetic sweeper technology to solve the multitude of problems. The result is the Theta, Fission and Atmos series magnetic sweepers that don't utilize any belts and in the process accomplish all objectives;
- Powerful pickup strength
- Light weight and easy to push because of no belts or stripping methods causing "drag"
- Completely sealed drum impervious to stray debris, in fact debris can be poured all over the sweepers without affecting them
- Reasonable costs to ensure quick payback periods for end users
- Continuous discharge (clean off) into a tray or bin that keeps the magnet at 100% pickup strength for optimum pickup power
With the Theta, Fission and Atmos series magnetic sweepers and their Ripwhirl Technology, Bluestreak Equipment has introduced another first to the industry in a long line of firsts introduced by Bluestreak Equipment.
